We hope your Q1 is proving as productive as ours!
Since our last update on newly released features we’ve been hard at work rolling out updates to make managing your connectivity even easier.
Here’s what we’ve got lined up for you in this second instalment of our Product Update Newsletter:
In this update:
- Enable Factory Test Mode after registering SIMs
- Transfer SIMs between Workspaces
- Block networks and RATs for multiple devices at once
- 4 networks added to the SuperNetwork
1. Enable Factory Test Mode after registering SIMs
In the past, Factory Test Mode was something that you could only activate during the SIM registration process.
We learnt that you are not always ready to 'create a device' and enable Factory Test Mode when first registering a SIM/SIMs and so we listened.
Now you can enable Factory Test Mode for any 'issued' status SIMs after registering them.
This can be done via the 'SIM Inventory' section within your portal.
* Please note: When you apply a bulk action to create multiple factory test devices it will be applied to 'Issued' and 'Factory Test Mode' state sims only. SIMs that are already active or suspended can’t be placed into Factory Test Mode.
2. Transfer SIMs between Workspaces
Last year we introduced Workspaces to the emnify portal. Workspaces offer independent portal entities with their own configurations, user roles, and billing.
Now you are able to transfer SIMs easily between your different workspaces.
We created this capability to address 3 main challenges:
- To allow you to easily move SIMs between staging and production environments
- To allow you to distribute individual SIMs to the right workspaces after registering a batch of SIMs
- Allow you to fix mistakes that occur when first registering SIMs into the wrong workspace
* Please note: Devices are not transferred and if a SIM is attached to a device it will be detached automatically when the SIM moves to the new workspace.
When transferring SIMs the following status changes apply:
- 'Factory Test Mode' status remains in 'Factory Test Mode' status
- 'Issued' status remains in 'Issued' status
- 'Suspended' status remains in 'Suspended' status
- 'Active' is transferred into 'Suspended' status
3. Block networks and RATs for multiple devices at once
In the past it was only possible to block networks for individual devices at one time.
We have now made it possible for you to block both networks and RATs for multiple devices in the 'Coverage Policy' section of the 'Connected Devices' tab.
Now, by blocking networks and RATs in individual countries for each coverage policy you block access to any SIMS assigned to that coverage policy.
